In the last couple of years we’ve made more strong relationships with our fellow VW friends in the States. But to be more specific, this year when we went to Alpine Vag Fair in Helen,GA we met more latino/boricua European car enthusiasts that shared our same passion. Jeff Rodríguez was one of them and a couple of weeks after we arrived to Puerto Rico he texted me to pitch me the idea of a chill summer meet he was thinking of. After a couple of days and a few phone calls the Summer Vibes & Rides was set to be held at LauderAle Brewery on July 21.
With this being their first event, they were stoked with the amount of cars that showed up! With good music in the background and laid back vibes, all sort of cars ranging from Europeans and JDMs to old school muscle participated at this meet. Even some of our OG members that moved to the mainland a few years back went to LauderAle to hang out with them.
Possibly the most important thing about Summer Vibes & Rides was that while everyone enjoyed the food and the beers while hanging out with their buddies, 10% of all the merch purchased in the event was donated to Best Buddies. An international nonprofit organization dedicated to establish a movement that creates opportunities for integrated employment, leadership development & inclusive living for individuals with intellectual & development disabilities.
Overall we would like to congratulate the boys for putting on an amazing event and supporting such a great organization and a great cause. The quality of the cars that showed up was insane and we can’t wait for the next Summer Vibes & Rides to happen again.
